Mise à jour :
Il y a eu cinq mises à jour de la base de données depuis le 7 avril dernier. Environ 1157 enregistrements individuels ont été ajoutés, et 472 enregistrements existants ont été modifiés. La majorité des travaux ont porté sur les Bourgeois du Nouveau-Brunswick et de la Louisiane.
J’ai terminé de documenter les enregistrements d’état civil (SD141) (mariage) des Archives Provinciales du Nouveau-Brunswick jusqu’à la fin de l’année 1960. J’ai aussi commencé à documenter les antécédents de Marguerite Lucy Bourgeois Laurent (1902-2002) basés sur la recherche originale de Jack K. Coffee.
Je tiens à remercier Amy Mackie, Joan K. Bourgeois, Charles E. Bourgeois, Myriam Larouche, Marielle A. Bourgeois, Marilyn D’aoust-Savoie et Noland Bourgeois pour leurs contributions et leurs commentaires. Comme toujours, ils sont très appréciés.

J’ai repéré deux sites intéressants concernant les Bourgeois de la Louisiane. Le premier « Antécédent de Marguerite Lucy Bourgeois Laurent (1902-2002) » (anglais seulement), couvre comme l’indique le titre, les antécédents Marguerite Lucy Bourgeois. Il est bien documenté et contient 1823 enregistrements concernant les Bourgeois remontant à Jacques Jacob Bourgeois et Jeanne Trahan.
Le deuxième site a été repéré en utilisant le moteur de recherche Mocavo.com et s’appelle « Dwayne's Genealogy Pages, Louisiana Montz Family & Allied Lines » (anglais seulement). Elle est aussi bien documentée et contient environ 830 enregistrements reliés à des Bourgeois de la Louisiane.
Dans les deux cas, il existe beaucoup de sources et citations permettant de bien vérifier les données.
Rechercher :
Le printemps est de retour et les cimetières sont dégagés de neige. Si votre cimetière contient des pierres tombales concernant les Bourgeois, j’apprécierais des photos. Au Nouveaux Brunswick je serais intéressé dans les pierres tombales des cimetières de Chartersville, de Cocagne, de Rogersville et de Shédiac.

Commentaire :
Pas tous les noms de famille français de la Louisiane sont de descendance acadienne et pas tous les Bourgeois de la Louisiane sont acadien.
Il est toujours intéressant de voir la réaction des gens qui ayant trouvé des informations sur une lignée de Bourgeois s’aperçoivent qu’ils ne sont pas de descendance acadienne.
De fait, il existe au moins 5 lignées de Bourgeois et LeBourgeois arriver de France avant, pendant et après la migration acadienne de 1760 à 1785. Il faut se rappeler que la Louisiane était en effet un territoire français au début des colonies et que les familles et individus arriver sur la Louisiane avant 1755 étaient à quelques exceptions prêtes d’origine française et non pas nord-américaine. Il y eut aussi des immigrants d’origine française même durant et après la migration acadienne.
J’ai documenté ces lignées dans la base de données du site de façon à identifier plus facilement les souches des Bourgeois de la Louisiane. Vous trouverez les souches non acadiennes suivantes sur le site :

- Carlos Bourgeois et Maria Isavel Catherina Papier.
- Nicholas Charles Bourgeois et Ann Le Vasseur

De ceux-ci la ligné de Nicholas Charles Bourgeois est la mieux documenter avec source et citations.
Le mois à venir:
À l’instant où je croyais avoir terminé d’indexer les Statistiques de l’état civil tirées de documents gouvernementaux (SD141) du Nouveau-Brunswick, les Archives publiques du Nouveau-Brunswick à publier les états civils de naissance pour les années 1917-1918, je vais donc m’attaquer à ceux-ci et je vais continuer à documenter les Bourgeois de la Louisiane.

Good day to you all
Status update:
There were five database updates since the 7th of April. Approximately, 1157 individual records were added and 472 existing records were modified. The majority of the work focused on the Bourgeois in New Brunswick and Louisiana.
I finished documenting the civil status (RS141) (marriage) records of the Brunswick Provincial Archives until the end of the year 1960. I also started to document the ancestry of Lucy Marguerite Bourgeois Laurent (1902-2002) based on the original research by Jack K. Coffee.

I found two interesting sites concerning the Louisiana Bourgeois. The first " Ancestors of Marguerite Lucy Bourgeois Laurent (1910-2002)", covers as the title indicates, Marguerite Lucy Bourgeois Laurent’s ancestry. It is well documented and contains 1823 records concerning the Bourgeois going back to Jacques Jacob Bourgeois and Jeanne Trahan.

In search of:
Spring is back and the cemeteries are cleared of snow. If your cemetery contains tombstones of Bourgeois’, I would appreciate photos. In New Brunswick, I would be interested in the headstones of the Chartersville, Rogersville, Cocagne and Shediac cemeteries.

Commentary:
Not all Louisiana French family names are of Acadian descent, and not all Louisiana Bourgeois’ are Acadian. It is always interesting to see the reaction of people who have found information about a line of Bourgeois’ when realize that they are not of Acadian descent.
In fact, there are at least five lines of Bourgeois’ and LeBourgeois’ that arrived from France before, during and after the Acadian migration of 1760 to 1785. It must be remembered that Louisiana was a French territory in the early colonies and that the families and individuals arriving in Louisiana before 1755 were with few exceptions of French origin and not North America. There were also immigrants of French origin during and after the Acadian migration.
I documented these lines in order to more easily identify the line of the Acadian Bourgeois’. You will find the following non-Acadian lines on the site:
- Jean Baptiste Bourgeois and Marie Ann Chevalier.
- Carlos Bourgeois and Maria Isavel Catherina Papier.
- Nicholas Charles Bourgeois and Ann Le Vasseur

Of these, the line of Nicholas Charles Bourgeois is the best documented with sources and citations.
The Coming Month:
Just when I thought I had finished indexing the New Brunswick Vital Statistics from Government Records (RS141), the public Archives of New Brunswick published the birth records for the years 1917-1918. I will try to get them done this month, and I will continue to document the Bourgeois’ of Louisiana.
